“Protecting” The Polls
Oh, Philly. I don’t envy you.
I saw this story on Michelle Malkin today, and just had to write about it. Especially after I read the whole article put out by the New Black Panthers.
Some of the more interesting pieces of it include:
…”We will not allow some racists and other angry whites, who are upset over an impending Barack Obama presidential victory, to intimidate blacks at the polls,” Muhammad said. “Most certainly, we cannot allow these racist forces to slaughter our babies or commit other acts of violence against the black population, nor our black president.”
Muhammad added, “We must organize to counter and neutralize these threats using all means at our disposal. This is a great time for our people, and we must ensure that peace prevails for our people.”
Shakur said the New Black Panther Party does not hate white people, but it does not like racist white people who try to harm the black community…
and
…Shakur added, “We warn you, leave Barack Obama alone and leave our babies alone because black people are a spiritual people and a people who are trying to do right, and we will not hesitate to take up our legal rights of self-defense.”
The emphasized parts are mine, but I thought they were relevant.
Why?
Let’s start with the obvious one: the “slaughter” of babies. Or, in their specific case (and this is so not meant to sound racist in any way, shape, or kind), black babies.
This concerns me, strictly because it shows true ignorance of the issues. There are two men running for President of the United States: Barack Obama (a half-white-half-black-but-considers-himself-totally-black man) and John McCain. Barack is running on the Democratic ticket, and, as usual, is a liberal in every sense of the word. John McCain is running on the Republican ticket, but is almost-but-not-quite a liberal conservative. Barack supports abortion, while John does not. Barack does not want his [black] daughters to be “punished” with a baby (see references here, here, and here–as well as all the ones you can find when you Google for “punished with a baby” including a couple of references on YouTube). John McCain does not support abortion.
So, ”New Black Panthers,” who is it that wants black babies to be slaughtered? Is it the white man? Or is it the black man? Keeping in mind it’s a black man who supports abortion, are you actually going to support the one who wants black babies to be slaughtered? Or are you going to support the white man who does not want them to be slaughtered?
Again, that’s not being racist–not on my part, anyway. I’m just stating facts here…
Now on to the “our black president” comment.
EXCUSE ME? God forbid he actually be elected, but if he is, will he not be my black president, too? True, I’m white, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’ll be elected as president, plus the fact that he’s black. If you’re going to say something as ignorant and racist as “our black president,” then you know where you can step off. There’s only one president–and it really doesn’t matter if he’s black or white. All that truly matters is if he’s fit for office. To say that he’s your black president only is to state that we white people have someone else for president. I only see one White House. I only see one Washington DC.
The comment about “not intimidating people at the polls” is so snort-worthy that I don’t think there’s a snort big enough on the planet that could do it justice. By having an armed “guard” supposedly “protecting” the polling place, not only are you intimidating people at the polls, you’re literally forcing them to vote for Obama!
People don’t need your kind of “protection.” Your kind of protection is like that of the mafia–you’re there to ensure that what you want is what happens. If a polling place needs protecting, bring in police officers. NOT a racist, armed, terrorist militia like the “New” Black Panthers!
And the distinction about them not hating white people, but hating white people who try to harm the black community is completely laughable! How they get around it? I actually have an inside scoop (although I have to keep it anonymous) on this, as I know someone who has members of the family who are part of the Black Panthers. To their credit, they actually make a public distinction about not hating white people vs. hating white people who hurt the black community. Privately, they lump all white people into the “white people who hurt the black community” group. So, they can hate us all they want and still be within the boundaries of their public image.
(Who’s the racist again?)
“We will not hesistate to take up our legal rights to self-defense.” Neither will I.
Neither will I.
Exit question to these “New Black Panthers”: Is a vote for McCain considered an act of violence against Obama?

Just pulled the lever for McCain. Guilty as charged.
