Obligatory The Sun Rises Again for the MSM/Colin Powell Speaks for Us All Post

I love the news.  Don’t you love the news?  It just makes my day to wake up every morning and turn on the tv.  Let’s see what’s on today:

Has everyone got it?  Just in case you didn’t catch all the messages you were supposed to, allow me to recap.

And the winner is…Barack Obama!  The MSM has voted, and the results are in.  The general election on 11/4 has been cancelled.  There’s no need for anyone to vote.  The sun is shining again:

  • The Obama campaign is stronger than ever.
  • McCain is only just now arriving in Missouri…just as Obama departs.
  • Look at the loot Obama’s racking up — proof of his charisma and popularity.  Rezko?  Who’s Rezko?
  • Obama is the official candidate of the North American Dentistry and Teeth Whitening Association.
  • Watch now as “Republican” Colin Powell hammers the last nail into McCain’s coffin.
  • McCain is excited to offer an assist:  “Are we behind?  Sure!”
  • Watch now as Mean Sarah Palin calls Obama a socialist.
  • Don’t forget: Hillary herself is campaigning for Obama.
  • Long-timer Bob Schieffer called in to verify the Fact.
  • Colin Powell just has the courage to say what other Republicans have been too afraid to.
  • But Bob, how in the world it is possible for Obama’s lead to still be shrinking in spite of all this?  (Are there still rednecks and plumbers and Christians and conservatives out there who would deny their glorious future?)  The answer: Well, of course McCain has a chance…but let’s get back to administering the Fact.
  • Happiness is Obama.  $150 million in one month.  The masses luv Obama.  Republicans luv Obama.  Colin Powell luvs Obama.

Please don’t ask me to recap Matt Lauer.

Best of Colin Powell takeaway quotes:

  • “We need a President who is a generational change.”  I know a couple of kindergarteners who would love to sit at the desk in the Oval Office.  Good to have around when you have to push the button.
  • “I don’t think [Sarah Palin] is ready to be President.”  Can you say “executive experience?”  That nasty, negative campaign ad must be wrong.

Let the ticker-tape parades and rose petal-throwing in the streets commence.

Exit question:  Schieffer never mentions anything about whether McCain’s statements about Obama are true or how previous presidential campaigns have compared.  If the MSM had vetted Obama the way they vet conservatives, would McCain’s campaign have looked as “negative” as it has to them?
