I am so discouraged right now I can’t even type the words…I don’t even have one single sarcastic thing to say.  I’d start a petition but they never work.  I’d start a campaign, but Paulson will drain the entire $700 billion from the U.S. bank account before I can even get my tent unfolded on the Capitol lawn.

Life isn’t fair.  And then it gets less fair.  And then it gets even less fair.  Maybe someday I will find a way to know joy again.  In the meantime, I’m going to be fulfilling my life-long dream of returning to my roots in Ireland.

Before I go, I should take a moment to say thank you to the Oklahoma Senators and Representatives who voted against this atrocity.  You are courageous, and you did the right thing.  If you decide you want to come with me, I’ll leave the light on for you.  Like the leper colonies of old, we will have our very own conservative colony.  Bring us your poor, your tired, your huddled individuals, yearning to be free…

If your life still hasn’t ended yet, read this.  I’ll leave the light on for you, too.

UPDATE: No snickering from the nut gallery, but God decided that I was out of line and was wallowing in an unacceptible fashion.  My brother just called me — my newest nephew is on is way into the world as we speak.  You just can’t make this stuff up.  Guess I found my joy again.  And I guess the moral here is that if God doesn’t even give up on a flop like me, He certainly won’t give up on you or the things that concern us.  May God bless your weekend and keep you safe.
