The Bottomless Bailout, Immigration Edition
As if a $700 billion bailout was not enough. As if politicians and press trying to sell us a $700 billion bailout for our own good was not enough. The straw has broken the camel’s back, my friends. The straw has broken the camel’s back.
For those of you who might not have followed the immigration debacle debate last year (and who could blame you? politics can be a royal pain), this morning might be a good time for a refresher. Our noble Democratic Congress, aided by numerous Republicans crossing the aisle in the spirit of fellowship, non-partisanship, increasing their constituent base and “defeating racism,” brought forth amnesty bills designed to save the American public from itself. The plan was to let everyone who was already here illegally stay here. No harm, no foul, right?
Wrong.
Problem with Amnesty for All #1: National security. Terrorists have crossed our southern border in the past. How will compassion and charity for less fortunate illegals bring back victims of terrorism to their loved ones? Amnesty for All makes citizens of both our enemies and those who are looking for a better life.
Problem with Amnesty for All #2: Economics. Being an American citizen means you have an overflow of cash, right? You have no problem paying for your own family’s healthcare, taxes, etc., right? No? But Amnesty for All means you get to pay for the illegals’ usage as well.
Problem with Amnesty for All #3: Crime. Isn’t good old American crime bad enough? Check out the statistics about the percentage of the prison population (you pay for) who are here illegally. Check out the stories about families who have lost loved ones because of crimes that could have been prevented if our federal government was enforcing our current laws. Amnesty for All means amnesty for convicted criminals, too.
Problem with Amnesty for All #4: Our borders are not closed to “your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.” It is, in fact, still possible for a foreigner to become a citizen of the United States. There are legal ways of living here. America is a melting pot, but it is not a free buffet. Amnesty for All means ignoring our own process, laws, and safeguards.
And while the government fed you their legislation, the left took your emotions, your admirable sense of compassion, decency and equality for your fellow man for a ride.
The reason I’m picking at the scab is because once again, the immigrants who came here legally, and their children and grandchildren, are being asked to pick up the tab. It just wasn’t enough for them to ask us to pick up the tab for Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac and AIG. I make less than $40K a year, working two jobs. I’m a Mutt, a true American, a mixture of several different ethnic backgrounds. I regularly give to charities who help the less fortunate. And I vote. U.S. Government, go ahead and ask me to pay for other people who are actively committing crimes against my country. Get the racist card out of the drawer again if you like. I dare you. Your Ivy League degrees and power have finally unhinged your minds.
Our two Oklahoma Senators Inhofe and Coburn have continually voted against these monstrosities, for which I am extremely grateful. But if you live in a state where your Congressmen have come unhinged, please contact them as soon as possible to exercise your civic right to tell them how you feel about Paulson’s Plan to Hand Out $700 Billion of Your Tax Money Like Halloween Candy.
I’m just not ready to go quietly into the night yet. Are you?
U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT: STOP BAILING OUT EVERY IRRESPONSIBLE PARASITE ON THE PLANET. THAT’S NOT YOUR JOB. PLEASE START USING OUR TAX MONEY FOR WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO AND STOP SPENDING MORE THAN WE’VE GOT. THAT IS ALL. THANK YOU.

Hey alright, I’m a mutt too. I used to work hard but construction took a crap on me so now I’m a full time student and currently gaining momentum on this political thing. I with you man this whole situation is sucks. I always hear how were the greatest country in the world blah blah blah but all I see is people pissed at each other because they’re working their azzes off just to get by. That has been my observation for the last few years anyway. There was a point where I could afford the stuff I owned and had enough to treat some who needed it from time to time and now I broke down myself starving and I’m the one that needs the help.
