The Atrocious Legacy of Margaret Sanger
I was going to title this post “Obama [Hearts] Margaret Sanger,” but he is not the only modern American who applauds her work. There is really so much more to this hideous compliment than meets the average eye.
Late last month, I was cruising at Dawn Eden’s blog (which is a must-read, by the way), and I was riveted by her June 24 link to Jonah Goldberg’s article at NRO about what Margaret Sanger really believed. I have been adamantly opposed to Planned Parenthood’s work of slaughtering children since I was old enough to know what abortion was, but I did not realize the deeper racist origins of the organization.
Today, See-Dubya at Michelle Malkin was kind enough to remind me of the subject, as well as the fact that we taxpayers foot the bill for this atrocity. Be sure to read all the links.
How could Obama admire Sanger’s work…considering that he and his own family would have been one of her targets? Is it from common romanticism of a monster or from racist influences in his own life – the same shoe, just on a different foot? Either way, I’m appalled that the atrocious legacy of Margaret Sanger is still celebrated in 2008 no matter who is cheering.
