No Lie: Lie to Me is Good TV

I tried to watch LOST, really I did, but it took so long for the show to go anywhere or do anything, I changed the channel and moved on to other things.  So while other bloggers were watching ABC last night, I was tuned into Fox, discovering one of the newest gems on tv — Lie to Me.

We’ve got crime shows of every shape and flavor these days – Monks and Mediums and Mentalists, oh my – but what makes this show unique is that the detective doesn’t need to hear a word in order to solve the crime.  As outstanding of a citizen as I am, ahem, it left me hoping that I never run into anyone trained to observe these truth-telling behavior patterns.  I hate the way lying makes me feel…which is why I will never lead a life of crime.  I couldn’t get away with anything, even if I wanted to.

But it’s always fun to watch other people get caught.

Which leads me to the best part.

The show’s website takes lie detection a step further — to a more practical level — to Faces in the News.  Some of these “Faces” were even briefly tied into the show last night.  And don’t forget to check out the Test Your Deception Detection Abilities game while you’re there.  Heck, this show could bring about the downfall of our entire political system.

Just be sure your boss stays interested in LOST.

  1. I don’t know if I’ve told you this, but you MUST watch LOST from the beginning. You be clueless and your viewing experience will be both unfun and uninformed. If you try to watch LOST again without watching the previous seasons, I may have to beat you.

Also, they are already rented out during my honeymoon. Someone called dibs last night. I allowed it because I figured it was safe to assume I wouldn’t be needing them for those 11 days :)
