The Lion King Musical Review: Better Than the Movie

I’m probably the only person in America who hated The Lion King movie. But in spite of my dislike for the story itself, I have to admit, The Lion King musical is quite a production. (more…)
The mound may settle down, but nothing is ever the same again.

This is getting ridiculous. Ok, beyond ridiculous. The Democrats want to talk about Tamiflu and the stimulus…but you don’t need Tamiflu if you DON’T GET SICK IN THE FIRST PLACE. For the five billionth time — Congress, secure our borders.
New campaign strategy for the next election cycle: “This incumbent voted to kill your child by swine flu” (when they voted against securing the borders). Mommie bloggers, go for it.
They peeked out earlier this week for the first time since I planted them several years ago.

They just would not give up.
It’s a sign. (more…)
Perhaps Congress and the President are not listening, but it seems that Dave Ramsey is.
Tonight, April 22, 8e/7c, Fox Business Network. There are a ton of local churches simulcasting the event, including Life Church’s Oklahoma City campus, or you can watch online. You can also submit questions for him, like this one:
Fighting the downtown traffic to find a parking space is all worth it once you dive into a plate piled high with Strawberries Newport. Eat first so you can burn off the calories walking around all the art.
So let’s do lunch. I’ll meet you there.
Sorry for the delayed wishes, but consider it an extension of the celebration. Your celebration certainly carried over to today anyway if your boss took Byron’s up on their gift suggestion:

I laughed out loud when I opened that email. After all, what administrative professional does not need a stiff drink? But if your boss is giving you booze, it can only mean one of two things: 1) he knows how much you have to put up with or 2) it’s time to start looking for a new one. (more…)
Videos still uploading…but I still can’t get enough tea.
KOCO was the only news station to send a chopper out for an aerial view of the well-attended protest at the OK capitol yesterday. You can check out the early video, but they have not posted their 6pm story broadcast yet.
See the Thursday Morning News Round-up at HQ.
Michael Bates has tea party links from our fellow Okies.

OKC is a great place to be. There was a huge turn out for the tea party — people took off work or fought for parking spaces blocks away just so they could come and let their voices be heard. Everybody was angry, but you’ve never seen so many pleasant, well-behaved angry people in your life. That’s Oklahoma for you. (more…)
I’m excited! Are you excited? I wouldn’t be able to attend if it weren’t for being unemployed, so thank heaven for small blessings. I’d make a great soundbite for the evening news.
This morning I’m looking for inspiration for my sign and discovering freebies. A couple new items have come to light this morning that I wanted to pass on to you. If you cannot attend the OKC tea party in person on your lunch break, there are a couple other ways you can still join in: (more…)

Fellow Okies, don’t forget to join us on the steps of the state capitol tomorrow for a tea party of historic proportion:
Oklahoma City Tea Party
Oklahoma State Capitol
Wednesday, April 15, 2009
12:00-1:00pm
I plan to attend, and you’re welcome to join me. I’ll be the one holding the sign.
If you can’t be in OKC (or OK), be sure to check here for info on other tea party opportunities close to you.
PINKIES UP!
Ok, so I was taking a day off from blogging — it being Easter Sunday and all — when I realized that there is probably not a more important day in the whole year to blog. At least, to blog about. (more…)
Spending time today remembering what Jesus did for us on the cross, I wanted to share some precious links with you that reflect how I’m feeling and how important today is — especially for a sinner like me.
Thinking About Death and Healing
I just heard some news that really concerned me. Click here and start watching at 3:43 for the report about the Obama’s plans for Sunday, and you’ll certainly share my concern.
I’m worried that this rash commitment to attend church, out of the blue, just because it’s Easter, will interfere with our new and improved relations with our Muslim overlord. Combined with the seder he held at the White House last night, this could put relations in serious jeopardy. (more…)
About 2:00 today, the gale force winds hit OKC. By 2:30 there was a grassfire (probably by someone flicking a cigarette) about two blocks south of me, but our fire department got on it and was able to get it under control. East of the city, out in Choctaw, those folks were not as lucky. On the outskirts of the urban area, they’ve got a lot of trees and brush. Around 6:00 I heard that they were evacuating and fire departments from around the metro area were summoned out to help. The area has been sealed off, and the wind is fueling the fire, causing sparks to jump to further areas.
