This is cross-posted at Foster Dad 101. This week, I’m talking about disorders in foster children. Well, they can–and do–happen in other children, too. But since Foster Dad 101 is about my life as a foster and adoptive dad, that’s the perspective I’m taking. Please read. (more…)
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mollie Sugden who has given us all so much joy with her performances over the years. May she rest in peace.
For the Stupid People Files. This one’s got me asking the question, “How has the human race survived this long?” Every snake owner in Florida — or anywhere — should rue the day. Why not just keep Great Whites in your swimming pools but tell your teens to avoid the deep end? (more…)

For our Rocky Mountain and Pacific friends — it’s not too late for you to load Fido up in your car with his water bowl, favorite blanket and doggie gate. For everyone else — no excuses. Must go home at lunch and get Fido for an afternoon of being Master’s personal assistant.
I’m all about the PetSmart…mainly because my Pets are actually Smarter than me. I’ve been to three stores in one week, and at each I was greeted at the door by this:
I just can’t understand why C-Biz doesn’t have links to this bargain up on her blog.
MetroTransit’s offering free bus rides tomorrow for Ozone Alert Day. Why fight traffic and pay for gas when you can ride for free? (Of course, the routes are so limited, you’ll need a designated driver in your office to drop you off and pick you up at your bus stop.)

Miles Hanon is an Oklahoma filmmaker whose thriller The Familiar premieres tonight at the deadCENTER Film Festival. I’ve had the good fortune to be one of the few who has been able to preview the film, and I was very impressed by his well-thought out story and what he and his five-person crew were able to accomplish on a budget of $25,000. From the press kit: (more…)
Our own Miss Wisabus tied the knot this evening, and I just wanted to take a moment to extend my sincerest congratulations and best wishes for their life together. As Proverbs 18:22 says, “The man who finds a wife finds a treasure and receives favor from the Lord.”
Yesterday I pulled a triple feature, just so I could give you the skinny on the top flicks at the box office this weekend. Here’s what I found:

Terminator Salvation
I love the first Terminator movie. I love Christian Bale. But I found this flick to be depressing, predictable, and most of all, a bore. Honestly, I had trouble staying awake, and it was the first of the three films I saw in a row. It picked up the last ten minutes, though. Just not enough to make up for the previous 100 minutes. It always warms my heart when little Oklahoma makes the news and appalls our more edjumicated and culturized coastal kin with grit and determination to do what’s right rather than what’s PC. HCR 1028 may only be a gesture, but it’s a very pointy, very red white and blue middle finger sort of gesture. California ain’t the wild west. We is. (more…)
